In the ceremony, at the last DTM Grand Prix of the season on the Hockenheimring Circuit - Germany, the respective President and CEOs of Blancpain and Lamborghini, Messrs Marc A. Hayek and Stephan Winkelmann announced that from May 2009 onwards, the Super Trofeo Car will compete on some of Europe’s legendary circuits.
In the world’s fastest and most demanding mono-brand championship – the first race will be on 02 May 2009 in Silverstone Circuit, UK – the 30 high-powered cars will carry the Blancpain-Lamborghini colors. It’s the alliance of speed and mechanical prestige, combining tradition and innovation.
The LAMBORGHINI BLANCPAIN SUPER TROFEO features a Gallardo LP560-4 bespoke race car which promotes the 4-wheel drive concept. Only the Professional and ‘Gentlemen’ drivers (International competition license A, B or C) will speed the expected grids of 30 race cars.
LAMBORGHINI supports across all elements of race organization: administration, hospitality, merchandise, technical, spare parts, etc. An exclusive and stylish trackside of Super Trofeo Village is also available; while BLANCPAIN presents the Super Trofeo Chronograph.
